As mentioned above, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort celebrates animation, and Guests can find sketches, drawings, concept art, background animation, and even larger-than-life characters everywhere they look.

Animation Hall is the main building for the Disney Resort that features a lengthy corridor that shows the progress of animation from an initial sketch to the final product. As Guests continue walking further into the building, they can spot favorite Disney and Pixar characters come to life as color and finishing touches are added. A unique chandelier overhead is even comprised of countless sketches of favorite characters! Animation Hall is also where Guests can check in or out as well as find the concierge.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to one main quick service restaurant located inside of Animation Hall. Landscape of Flavors celebrates the art of landscape animation with large pieces of floating artwork that bring locations like the coral reef and Pride Rock to life. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Landscape of Flavors features several different ordering areas as well as grab-and-go beverages, snacks, and more. The menu mainly focuses on American favorites including pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more.

The other dining option at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is The Drop Off Pool Bar located near The Big Blue Pool in the Finding Nemo area. Featuring a small seating area, Guests can choose to enjoy their orders near the ordering counter or while relaxing in nearby pool chairs. The menu at The Drop Off Pool Bar is fairly limited with several salad, hot dog, pizza, and snack options in addition to beer, wine, and cocktails.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to three pools including the largest one found at any Walt Disney World Resort! The massive Big Blue Pool is the Disney Resort’s main pool in the Finding Nemo area and truly makes Guests feel as though they have entered the coral reef. Guests can enjoy a zero-depth entry, underwater music, and tons of space to relax in addition to the nearby Schoolyard Sprayground where little ones can splash with pop-up water jets and colorful characters.

The Cozy Cone Pool can be found in the Cars area and brings the classic motel owned by Sally to life. Massive cones serve as cozy cabanas where Guests can relax in the shade in addition to plenty of lounge chairs. With wonderful theming, Guests really feel as though they are going for a dip in Radiator Springs!

The final pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the Flippin’ Fins Pool in The Little Mermaid area where Guests can relax among favorite characters and scenes from the film. This pool tends to be quieter than the other two, making it a great choice for Guests looking to relax a little more.

Recreation

There are several recreational activities found at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort that are complimentary to Guests. Each day pool parties, trivia, and activities can be found at The Big Blue Pool, campfires are lit once the sun sets, and movies on the lawn play classic Disney and Pixar films. There is also the Righteous Reef Playground for kids to let loose, the Pixel Play Arcade for gaming fun, and a 1.38 jogging trail that winds through the entire Disney Resort.

Transportation

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to two main forms of transportation. The first is the classic Disney motorcoach system which brings Guests to each of the four Disney Parks as well as the water parks and Disney Springs. The main motorcoach station can be found just outside of Animation Hall.

Guests staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort also have access to the Disney Skyliner which features brightly colored gondolas that travel to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner station can be found in the center of Hourglass Lake behind the main resort area near the walkway to Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a great option for Guests traveling with families thanks to several different room categories. The Little Mermaid area has standard rooms that sleep up to four Guests, but the other tree areas feature suites that are specifically designed for larger parties. The family suites in The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars areas can sleep up to six Guests with a bedroom with a queen bed and full bath, living space with an additional full bath and sleeper sofa, pull down bed, and kitchenette. With all rooms, Guests can choose between views of the courtyards, pools, or parking areas.
